Special ordered 2011 BMW X3 can reach customers in one week
Probably not going to work for Australia, but you never know...
The second generation BMW X3 is just months away from reaching the North American dealerships and for the first time since its existence, the redesigned Compact SAV will be manufactured at Spartanburg plant in South Carolina.
Previous generation X3 was built by the Magna-Steyr automaker at its plant in Austria and the wait time for a customized vehicle could be as long as 6 weeks. With the new model and the advantage of having it built on U.S. soil, BMW is introducing a build-to-order option. The company says the special-order delivery times can be drastically cut and from order to delivery, only a week time would pass.
The catch? The vehicle has to be picked up at the Spartanburg plant where BMW offers a nifty Performance Center Delivery.
