M Sport division of those from BMW has started the process of development of the M1 performance version. Derivative from 1-Series Coupe, the model receives the 6-cylinder bi-turbo 3.0-liter engine developing 350 hp and will be launched at the half of 2011.



The power of the new M1 will be with 50 hp greater compared with the current 135i M Sport Coupe, but with no less than 70 hp compared with the 4.0 liter V8 engine from the M3. For now, the German manufacturer has announced the torque, but considering that the standard version of the engine with 3.0 liter 6-cylinder from the M3 produces 400 Nm, the engine version developed for M1 should generate 420 Nm of torque.
