When I bought the car approx 15 months ago it was a credit to the previous owner - no expense spared and maintained regardless of cost as is evident in the huge folder of receipts and history present with the car (- e.g a receipt of approx. 6000 dollars a few years ago for a brand new Alpina exhaust system)
I have barely put 2500 kilometers on the car in 15 months due to it being my weekend car, but I can assure you that each and every trip was both enjoyable and memorable.
As I'm quite particular about my cars, I did a total and complete service on the car after I purchased it. It wasn't scheduled for it until ages after that, but I just wanted to start with everything done properly and at the same time for piece of mind so I did everything together at once.
Simon at RX Automotive in Brisbane did this - one of the best known and skilled Bmw mechanics I, and indeed many others Bmw enthusiasts use on an ongoing basis.
What was serviced and changed (only 2500 kilometers ago):
- Engine oil and filter
- Cam belt and tensioner
- Spark plugs
- Waterpump
- Thermostat
- Bmw Coolant
- Air filter
- Alternator belt
- Power steering belt
- Air con belt
- Diff oil
- Gearbox oil
- Brake and Clutch fluid
It was also noted during this service that the rear diff bush was slightly worn so this was changed, along with a service on the big brake kit as well. Discs and pad thickness were noted to be perfect.
The engine oil and filters were also changed only 35 kilometers ago (it had been 2500 k's since it's last change)
It also comes with all the Bmw bit and pieces like the (working!) glovebox torch, full toolkit, toweye, warning triangle and unopened and sealed first aid kit.
A fifth Alpina alloy wheel is also the spare.
As for a brief talk on the car:
No wear present on the Recaro seats or interior.
No cracks in the dash.
It starts first time, every time with excellent oil pressure as shown on the Alpina digital readout.
Paint is in superb condition with absolutely no fade.
Bodywork is excellent with no dents or scratches.
Tyres still have 80% thread left on them.
Remote central locking with alarm with immobiliser.
Fantastic 6 cylinder sound helped by the stainless Alpina exhaust.
Plenty of power available from it, with loads of torque for a comfortable, swift feel.
It's been an absolute pleasure to own and drive. It's extremely rare, fantastic to drive and is guaranteed to give rewarding and memorable ownership. Only selling due to a change in personal circumstances.
Any questions or inspections are welcome and indeed encouraged.
